Editorial and review policy

The rules we hold ourselves to: where facts come from, how scores are built, what commercial relationships exist, and what happens when we get something wrong.

Last updated 12 June 2026

This page exists so you can hold us to something specific. It covers sourcing, scoring, commercial disclosure, corrections and the things we will not do regardless of who asks.

Sourcing rules

We work from primary sources wherever one exists. Statutory claims come from bill and statute text, not from coverage of it. Licensing claims come from FinCEN's MSB registrant search, NMLS Consumer Access and the Florida Office of Financial Regulation. Fraud statistics come from the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center annual reports. Fee figures come from operators' published schedules, and where a published figure clearly understates the real cost — as it routinely does with kiosk spreads — we say so and give a realistic range instead.

Every page carries a sources block linking the material we relied on. All external links on this site carry rel="nofollow". When a claim originates from a company describing itself, we attribute it explicitly and tell you to treat it accordingly.

How we score platforms

Scores out of ten reflect suitability for a Florida-based retail user, and the weighting is deliberately public:

  • All-in cost (heaviest weight) — commission plus spread plus realistic funding cost, not the headline maker fee that only applies at institutional volume.
  • Licence transparency — whether federal registration and state licences are published and verifiable in under a minute, and whether audit history exists.
  • Florida availability — eligibility for residents of this state, and any restrictions that affect people who travel or move.
  • Cash-out speed and reliability — how quickly and cleanly dollars reach a US bank account.
  • Interface honesty — whether the default path is the cheap one. Platforms that push users onto expensive products lose points for it.

We do not score on referral payouts, token giveaways, advertised staking yields, marketing spend or sponsorship deals. We also do not score on customer-support responsiveness, because we cannot measure it consistently and every published figure is unverifiable.

Commercial disclosure

Some outbound links on this site are commercial: if you open an account through them we may receive a commission, at no additional cost to you. Those links are marked at the point of use — in the panel beside the article, in the footer of a review card, or beneath a call-to-action — and never disguised as an ordinary reference.

Two further limits worth stating. We take no commission on OTC desk or advisory introductions, and no firm has paid for inclusion on our OTC page or investment firms page. And no hardware wallet, card issuer or accounting practice mentioned on this site has paid for its mention.

Authorship

Pages are published under the Crypto Miami research desk rather than under invented personal bylines. We would rather be honest about that than manufacture a fictional expert with a stock photograph, which is standard practice in this niche and which we think misleads readers about the nature of the work.

Where a page contains a judgement rather than a fact, we label it — "our view", "what we would do", "our honest assessment" — so you can weigh it as opinion. Where a page contains arithmetic, we show the arithmetic so you can disagree with the inputs.

Corrections

Report it to us directly Email contact@crypto-miami.com with the page, the claim and, ideally, the source that contradicts it. We read everything.
Factual errors are fixed promptly A wrong figure, a dead location, a misread statute or a stale fee gets corrected as soon as we can verify the right answer.
Substantive corrections are noted, not hidden If a correction changes the meaning of a page — a reversed conclusion, a materially different number — we note it rather than silently editing. Typos and formatting are simply fixed.
Every page shows when it was last reviewed The updated date on each article reflects a genuine review of its content against current sources, not a timestamp bump for search purposes.
Operators can send updates We will check and reflect verifiable changes to fees, coverage or licensing. We will not remove accurate criticism, and repeating the request does not change the answer.

What we will not publish

Price predictions, trading signals or targets. Content presenting speculation as analysis. Referral links dressed as editorial recommendations. Lists of individual kiosk addresses we cannot verify are live, because a stale address wastes a reader's afternoon. Fictional authors. And anything about an unlicensed platform that would function as promotion for it.

Our limits

Crypto Miami is a research publisher. We are not a broker, dealer, exchange, money services business, investment adviser, law firm or accounting practice. Nothing here is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and none of it accounts for your circumstances. Digital assets are volatile and largely unprotected: balances held with a service provider are not FDIC- or SIPC-insured, and money sent to a wallet or a kiosk is usually unrecoverable. Speak to a licensed Florida professional before acting.
