About Crypto Miami
We are an independent research site about one narrow subject: how money actually moves into and out of digital assets in Miami-Dade County. No paid rankings, no sponsored reviews, and no pretending a kiosk is a good deal.
Crypto Miami exists because the information available about buying and selling crypto in this city was, when we started, mostly wrong. Directory sites listed machines that no longer existed. Fee guides quoted commissions while ignoring the spread that made up most of the actual cost. And nobody was reading the Florida statutes that determine which companies are allowed to hold your money in the first place.
What we cover
One city, one subject, in depth. We track the crypto exchanges available to Florida residents, the ATM operators actually running machines in Miami-Dade, the flat-fee cash routes most people have never heard of, the OTC desks that handle large orders, and the state and federal rules that govern all of it. We also cover the specifically Miami things — property settled in stablecoins, luxury dealers taking digital assets, a city token that collapsed — because those are the questions people here actually ask.
What we do not do is cover prices, predictions or trading strategy. There is no shortage of that elsewhere, we have no edge in it, and it is not what our readers come for.

How we research
Our method is deliberately unglamorous. Fee figures come from operators' own published schedules and disclosures, cross-checked against independent estimates where the published number obviously understates the real cost. Licence status is checked against FinCEN's MSB registrant search, NMLS Consumer Access and the Florida Office of Financial Regulation rather than taken from a company's marketing.
Regulatory claims come from bill text and statute, not from press coverage of bill text. When we say Florida's HB 505 caps daily kiosk activity at $2,000 for new customers, that is because the act says so — and we link to it so you can check. Fraud statistics come from the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center annual reports rather than from aggregators quoting each other.
Where a figure is uncertain, we say it is uncertain. Where a claim comes from a company about itself — Coinme's fee-saving comparison, for instance — we attribute it and tell you to discount it. Our editorial policy sets out the full rules, including how we correct mistakes.
Why there are no paid rankings
Some of the links on this site are commercial, and we say so wherever that is the case. But no company can buy a position, a score, a favourable description or removal of a criticism. That is not a moral posture, it is the only way a page like our exchange ranking is worth anything to you.
You can test this yourself, which is the point. We rank a partner platform first and then explain, in the same page, that Kraken Pro, Gemini ActiveTrader and OKX US will beat it on raw commission. We tell you that our top pick has a narrower asset list and a weaker advanced interface. A page that only praises the thing it earns from is not a review, and readers can tell.
Editorial positions we hold
Some conclusions recur across the site often enough that it is fairer to state them here than to let them look like coincidences.
Standalone crypto ATMs are almost never the right answer. At an all-in cost commonly between 10% and 25%, they are a solution to one narrow problem — physical cash, immediate need, no alternative within reach. We will keep saying so.
The advanced interface is the only interface. The gap between a platform's one-tap buy button and its proper trading screen is the single largest avoidable cost in retail crypto, and on some platforms it is close to tenfold.
Custody matters more than returns. A balance held by a company is a claim on that company. The Bitcoin Depot bankruptcy in May 2026, which froze customer balances, was not a novel lesson — it was the same lesson again.
Florida's tax position is a real advantage that people misread. No state income tax means no state capital gains tax. It does not mean no tax, and the federal obligation is now better documented than ever.
Corrections and contact
We get things wrong, and operator details go stale faster than almost any other kind of local information. If you spot an error — a machine that is no longer there, a fee that has changed, a statute we have summarised badly — please tell us at contact@crypto-miami.com. We correct quickly and we do not quietly edit substantive changes without noting them.
Operators and platforms are welcome to send updates and we will check them. We will not remove accurate criticism, and a request to do so will not receive a different answer the second time. Full detail on the contact page.
